Yule Recipe - Chocolate Pretzel Wreath

This simple, easy recipe for a chocolate pretzel wreath is perfect for making with children or sending to loved ones as gifts.

Difficulty Rating

Yule, the Winter Solstice, is a time of reflection, during the darkest and longest night of the year. It marks the return of the sun, when the days finally begin to get a little longer. It's also a time to celebrate with family and friends, sharing the spirit of giving during the holidays.

One thing I really enjoy doing at Yule is making delicious treats with my baby bats, they love being in the kitchen with me and making some festive magic.

Our chocolate wreath is a simple recipe to make with little ones and as Yule is about sharing with others why not create some extra wreaths to gift your friends and family. This year we made GIANT pretzel wreaths as my boys saw these extra large pretzels and it just had to be done.

You can decorate your wreaths however you like - I opted for vegan festive sprinkles from BakingTimeClub, you can use vegan mini marshmallows, chocolate shapes, sweets, coconut - the ideas are endless and the fun is only limited to your imagination!

Ingredients

  • 100g vegan white chocolate drops

  • Salted pretzels

  • Sprinkles

  • Ribbon

Method

  1. Melt your chocolate drops in 30 second burst in the microwave

  2. Lay down parchment paper and dip half of a pretzel in the chocolate mixture one by one and place them onto the parchment paper in a circle.

  3. Do this in two layers ensure all the chocolate dipped sections are touching

  4. Quickly decorate your wreathes with sprinkles before they cool

  5. Once fully cool thread a ribbon through the pretzels at the top of the wreath

Optional - You can colour the white chocolate with vegan food colouring, I just enjoy the simplicity of the white snowy looking wreaths contrasting with the bright christmas sprinkles.

However 2023 has found you, I wish you nothing but happiness and health for the new year ahead. This time to reflect on our successes, our struggles and our strength galvanizes us to go forth with the fire inside us burning brightly into the new cycle.

May the light of the sun shine on you and yours this Yule.

Blessed be,

Vegan VVitch
